The Idea

In 1996 ELFI was created as an information brokering system suitable for the domain of research funding for the Ruhr-Universität-Bochum. It was developed as an agent-based system that helps scientists, research managers and administrators, research institutions and students to search the world wide web for information on research funding more efficiently for their specific needs. Nowadays ELFI is more than an information system within one institution, as a customer-oriented service, ELFI provides information for students, scientists and research managers and administrators all over the German-speaking area.
